I was under the impression that the new iOS 5 and iCloud combo would provide seamless syncing of iWork documents not only among iOS devices (iPhone, iPad), but also with the iWork apps on my Mac. That is not the case.

Instead, iCloud allows you to download the documents that you’ve been editing on your iPad (for example) and edit them using the iWork apps on your Mac. But it does not automagically sync those changes back up to iCloud (and thence to your iOS devices). Which it clearly should.

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who reads “Every document, every edit, everywhere” and assumes that “everywhere” includes my Mac.
